The first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars story was something…different. With no Midichlorians in sight (GO HOME QUI-GON, YOU’RE DRUNK AGAIN), here was a Star Wars film that was heavily focused on the dirty side of the Rebel Alliance, an organisation that was asking itself just how far would it go to stop the Empire and its plans to create the mother of all superweapons named after a Tenacious D song.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg revealed so far. Rogue One has so much more still to give, regarding the ragtag group of rebels making up the core cast, a planet that holds value to anyone who believes in the Force and a few glimpses of the surliest battle-droid ever reprogrammed to serve life instead of ending it. Here’s the latest trailer then for Rogue One:

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Now that has more of the Star Wars feel that those reshoots promised! And at the same time, director Gareth Edward’s tone and vision still feels intact.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. It’ll be out on December 2016, just in time to make a run on the deadly trenches of malls that blast Boney M’s Drummer Boy through the speakers at its consumers.

Can’t help thinking the PG rating does this movie a serious disservice.

The movie is lie, everybody knows the Death Star plans were stolen by a lone wolf mercenary called Kyle Katarn
