Legends head

I don’t know about you, but my anticipation levels are slowly building for DC and The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow – the ensemble series featuring side characters from both Arrow and The Flash. I wasn’t particularly convinced it had a place or was even necessary, but everything they’ve shown has gotten me thinking this could be a hell of a lot of fun – and this latest short trailer is no exception.

In case you’ve forgotten what the show is about, here’s the official synopsis:

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

Adventure! Time travel! Action! One-liners! Fun! Tell me you’re not even slightly intrigued by this. The current seasons of both Arrow and The Flash have been building the foundation for this series for some time, introducing (and in some cases reintroducing) the characters that’ll be traveling to the 70’s to save the world – and it’s almost time for the pay-off.

It features Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) leading the team of The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Firestorm (Victor Garber and Franz Drameh), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Cooper) against evil scientist Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen) and the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).

Legends of Tomorrow will begin airing on 21 January, and I’m looking forward to seeing it – how about you?
