Shredder

After spending my entire weekend playing DOOM, I’ve begun seeing things a little differently. Specifically through a DOOM-filter, which is why I’m in jail right now for attempting to saw a Jehova’s Witness in half with a rusty DVD copy of SAW 4. I should have used my remaining minutes to call my lawyer, now that I reflect back on this.

Yes. And now it’s time to head to the gym & pretend to work there, and then go home for some real work – Warfarming.

That’s what I look like trying to figure out why one bit of code works perfectly in one place, but completely differently in other. FML.

It’s php, html and css. It WORKS, but it doesn’t look the same at all. And it’s all referencing the same css.

I want to get into php a bit, but I don’t have anything specific that I want to code. Just for fun xD

Did some C++ where I found out I sucked it coding altogether 😛

I want to learn C# and Python or w/e its called. For game development, specifically. XD

Python from what I get is advanced stuff. Saw a stream on twitch where some guy was using it to code a 16bit game O.o

            May 16, 2016 at 16:21

No more advanced than C++ though.

Python is very high level (verging on scripting language) main goal of the language design was to human readable. So very easy to learn and completely open source (www.python.org)

With unending libraries of very complex operations with very simple libraries you can get very far as hobbyist before needing to move to something else.

You have to more specific of the platform; game development is done with everything from assembler, C, C++/#, Java (spits on the ground), to Python and Lua.

I’m more on the services and low-level system development side so if there are actual indie game developers feel free to jump in and correct(maybe good idea for Lagz series of articles).

Think start with Python get the basics done, all the tools, guide and online courses are free.

Small games and apps can be done in Python and development in Python is leaps and bounds faster than C/C++/C#

Then if you want to use XAML you go C# or if you want to interface with Direct3D and most of the other big graphics engines C++.

I will start with Python then, thank you 🙂

c++ is finicky and crappy and unforgiving, with a lot of little drills and hoops that want jumping through to get something done.

            Bleeeeech

            May 16, 2016 at 18:51

No hoops and drills of any programming language can compare to the hoops and issue and problems you have deal with developing for the asinine 5 year old with a crayon designed POS that is any Microsoft Operating System.

            May 16, 2016 at 19:23

Yeah, you mean the old windows mobile 6.5 stuff? Was tricky but still better than some other POS devices I have seen. Consulted on system that used a big name pos. Api was crappy but the disk driver, such as it was wanted big endian, cpu little endian. How that even got made like that…..

          • HvR

            May 17, 2016 at 10:07

That is actually not uncommon, for instance network byte order which a lot of devices use is big endian where as the system endianness depends on the CPU and I encounter little endian a hell of a lot more than big endian.

But I was referring to all M$ OS’es from 3.1 up to 10; extremely crappy system designs which is the direct causes of all the security issues being carried over from OS to OS and with solutions forced on the system which can not be better described as hacks.

You know, if my mom had any kind of common sense, she’d have this debate BEFORE adopting the myriad of dogs and cats she has. I’ve literally lost count. sigh.

I’ve been wanting a new puppy for ages now. This is just torture knowing I can’t have any! If I had money and a farm I would adopt all the pets at SPCA!

I’ve been wanting a small house dog for mine to have a friend during the day honestly. But I don’t have the space or budget for a 2nd dog. 🙁

I don’t understand adopting all the animals though. 2 dogs is my limit.

I have a very big heart and got a lot of love to give. If I don’t share the love I explode.
I have two dogs but they live with my mum. Muggie and Tigger, I love those two!
