PayPal confirms Steam Sale date

Steam broadcast

I love the Steam Sale. I try to have self control, I really do. Sometimes, it’s not even the games that lure me in, it’s those damn badges. But either way, I usually end up picking up some awesome bargains for my backlog, and I’m sure this sale will be no different. There’s something so satisfying about getting a game you’ve been eyeing for a fraction of its normal price.

As always, there’s speculation about when the Steam Sale will begin. But now we know thanks to PayPal.

Really, checking out with PayPal on Steam? Never even thought of using their service, but it’s nice of them to confirm the start date of the sale. So, the end of next week, just before payday the sale will kick off. I’m sure many of you will be hoping to pick up Total War: Warhammer for a bit cheaper, and probably Fallout 4 if you haven’t done so already.

Those emails are going to start coming for me. You know the ones – “An item on your wishlist is on Sale”. I still need to try out This War of Mine, and I’m keeping a close on Besiege and Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! Do you have a shopping list for the Steam Sale, or will you do it all on impulse?

With winter upon us and a while to wait for more cool new games, I think I can buy things guilt-free… right?

Thanks to winning R500 from an unnamed gaming site, self-control can GITFS. My wishlist is going to get depopulated. And then I’ll have more games I’ll take years to install, never mind play. Sigh. One of my better problems.

He’s a bastard like that. Advertises his betrayal openly. All of this while he’s paying Lagz under the table to win comment of the week.

It’s impossible for me to betray anyone. How many times must I say that there’s only one side – mine.

I have R900 sitting in my wallet from selling dota items. I’m ready, and my real wallet won’t even know. 😀

lol and that was only 26 items. I have about 600 more that I can sell, they aren’t worth much, but it’ll add up to maybe another R900. Just the two-factor authentication BS that’s keeping me from selling those.

Oh no that’s still probably a loss. I’ve spent much more I think over the 2 years I played.

I really want Dishonored 2. If it does not come on special I might just have to pirate it. I played the first one 3 times over and even purchased the Definitive edition. If you do not know, it is releasing on Steam for a ‘dishonorable’ 800 f***ing Rand and I simply can’t afford that. 🙁

I preferred it when Steam still had PayPal for SA users.

You can already buy Fallout 4 for 50% cheaper than Steam.
Just go to some of the online retailers and get a hard copy. It’s like R400.

I pre-ordered Fallout 4 last year on CNA’s website for R400. While the Steam pre-order was R800. Don’t buy Bethesda on Steam, their prices are exorbitant. I think it’s just over R500 on Takealot now, which is still way cheaper than Steam.

Just a note, you can’t use PayPal on a South African Steam Account.
