If there was one cartoon that captured my attention growing up, it was Reboot. It was a pioneer in computer animation, and it was the first of its kind to be released on the small screen in such a massive way. The show ran for several seasons, crafting an intricate tale that dipped between light-hearted shenanigans and some absolutely brutal sub-plots. And now 20 years after it was first release, it’s getting a reboot.
USER WINS!
In a press release on the BringBackReboot website, Rainmaker Entertainment, who created the original series and were known as Mainframe Entertainment back then, announced that the series would be back. Having created a new television division that focuses on just such entertainment, the new studio is adopting the old name of Mainframe once again and will be creating new Reboot episodes.
“We are excited to focus our television production activities under the Mainframe brand with an all-new version of ReBoot as well as engage with celebrated children’s programming producer Jane Startz on Tiger’s Apprentice,” said Michael Hefferon, President and Executive Producer of Mainframe parent Rainmaker Entertainment in the press release.
ReBoot is certain to be embraced by a new generation of fans while Tiger’s Apprentice will provide a bold and unique television experience for kids everywhere.
It’s a damn good time to bring back Reboot, I reckon. Gaming has exploded in popularity in recent years, technology has grown massively and films such as Wreck-It Ralph have proven that there is a market for this kind of entertainment. Now say it with me:

That news made my Friday ! … can’t wait for it ! … just hope it is written as well as the original and not overly ‘kiddyfied’ …

Having seen these again recently, I should warn that the originals were quite kidified already…

lol … suppose it’s been a while… don’t remember them as such… especially later seasons with old Enzo, Glitch Bob etc. Well lets hope they’ve grown up a bit then… Tron, Star Wars style writing (with some trademark ReBoot humour) would do just fine…

I hope so. And maybe it’ll have the Airbender effect – aim for young boys and end up courting twenty-something women…

I have to agree. The memory was better than the actual thing. BUT a reboot would actually more than just reboot reboot. It would be a huge upgrade. I really can’t wait! REBOOT!
