Resident Evil REmaster footage shows a shinier mansion

SHE WAS ALMOST A JILL SANDWICH HAHA[5]

Oh Resident Evil 1, how I DON’T miss those nightmares you gave me as a kid! Lumbering zombies, snarling dogs, head chopping toad-like hunter things…  those were the good ol’ survival horror days! If you somehow missed the original, it was completely REmade for the Game Cube and eventually ported to the Wii. If you missed that too, it’s getting REmastered for just about every platform, so you can finally see what the fuss is about.

Here’s some new footage of both Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, the game’s playable characters (via Gamespot)

Seeing this footage has my Resident Evil itch acting up… I should really have that checked out. I played the REmake on the Wii and enjoyed the heck out of it. The movement felt a tad odd, but they added new gameplay elements, new environments, new puzzles, and a million buckets of extra atmosphere which made the game even better than the original (in my opinion).

It should be played twice, as Chris and Jill have different ways of getting through the mansion. It’s really a must if you consider yourself a fan of the franchise, or even if you just want to see where it all began. Besides, Jill nearly gets turned into a sandwich, which is a memorable moment in the franchise (for the wrong reasons thanks to the original). Screenshot comparisons be damned, this is the real way to see how much work went into the complete REmake.

They made the scene infinitely more bearable. The REmastered Resident Evil will be available on the PlayStation 3 and 4, the Xbox One and 360, and even the Master Race sometime in 2015. Will you be getting it?
