Robin Williams is Dwight D Eisenhower

Robin Williams seems to have hit a new phase in his career. He’s gone from alien to manic man, funny man to creepy man, and now, he’s taking a stab at portraying various American presidents it seems.

He already put in a great performance as the manliest of all those heads of state, as Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the Museum, and now, his next POTUS role will be as the president who emerged from the battlefields of World War 2, Dwight D Eisenhower.

Williams joins a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Vanessa Redgrave, David Oyelowo, Terrence Howard, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda and Colman Domingo, for The Butler.

But he’s not the focus of the film, as it’ll be all about real-life White House Eugene Allan, who served for three decades in the iconic house of America. Directed by Lee Daniels, the drama is based on a script by Danny Strong, from a Wil Haygood Washington Post article, and will begin filming later this month in New Orleans. The parts that haven’t been too wrecked, we suppose.

After Williams finishes his term in office, he’ll next move on to The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, as one bad diagnosis leads to a 90 minute spectacle of YOLO action.
