The Flash season 6

Crisis! The biggest word in the DC Comics vocabulary, the big C isn’t thrown around lightly and in the realm of television, the biggest Crisis of them all is finally on the doorstep of the Arrowverse. A massive event that was first hinted at back in 2014’s first season of The Flash, last year’s Elseworlds event finally pulled the trigger on the gun that fires off the Crisis on Infinite Earths gun, as the Monitor began rallying troops for the fight against the universe-ending machinations of the Anti-Monitor.

That larger story will play out in the background of The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl, but until then those shows have some unfinished business of their own to attend to. First up, the final season of Arrow as Oliver Queen makes good on his vow to the Monitor while still somehow finding time to protect Star City. He’s fortunately not alone, as all your other favourite Team Arrow members are back to kick some ass. Oh, and Wild Dog too.

There’s honestly not much to look at in this trailer, as it serves as a highlight reel for all the action that kicked off so many years ago when Ollie first found himself on a seemingly deserted island. On the plus side, Katie Cassady has a new outfit for her Black Canary persona, and it looks awesome:

Next up, The Flash! After season 4 saw Team Flash face off against the evil genius of The Thinker and season 5 saw a two-for-one deal on Cicada and the Reverse-Flash being up to tricks, the first half of season 6 will see a new menace in the shape of Sendhil Ramamurthy as Dr. Ramsay Rosso AKA Bloodwork. A doctor obsessed with conquering death itself, the CW describes him “a brilliant physician with a genius intellect, and the world’s leading expert on hematological oncology”.

Rosso happens to have a connection to Team Flash as a colleague of Caitlin Snow, and his arc will presumably see him follow the path of being a doctor with good intentions who goes full evil after a massive cock-up. Probably.

After that, the latter half of The Flash season 6 will focus on the ramifications of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, as that event has now been moved up an entire five years on The Flash chronology. Dammit Barry. Lastly, the next season of Supergirl will see Kara face her own LL, as after her secret identity got outed to bestest best friend Lena Luthor, the billionaire tech mogul is looking to work out her frustrations of being lied to via the ol’ supervillain meltdown method.

Kara’s got a new costume because Melissa Benoist is a treasure who doesn’t deserve to freeze to death on a cold Vancouver night, while the super-shadowy ultra-sinister Leviathan organisation from the previous season are finally ready to make their move.

The latest season of the Arrowverse kicks off in October, with the Crisis on Infinite Earths playing out over December and January.

I really need to get my act together and start watching the arrowverse shows again. I think I just faded out after season 3 of Flash, season 5 or 6 of Arrow, season 2 of Supergirl, and I keep on hearing how great Legends of Tomorrow became.

      Don’t bother nana

The C(SJ)W shows are light on material, and your cringe-muscles will go into spasm.

LoT is mostly fun though, when they stay away from the woke bs
