There might not be any Doctor Who planned for this month, but from November, it’s the beginning of the end for the Matt Smith run of the show.
November 23 sees the 50th anniversary episode air, but after that, it’s time for a Christmas tradition. And no, I don’t mean Kervyn passing out on my couch after finding where I hid the good bottle of scotch. Matt Smith will be bidding fans farewell in the annual Christmas episode, but in real life, he’s done for good. Producer Marcus Wilson confirmed this, tweeting that filming had wrapped up on the untitled Christmas special:
So it’s goodnight from me, and it’s goodnight from him. That’s a wrap. Christmas 2013. Thank you all.

Cheers Smith. And thanks for three years of manic fun as the eleventh incarnation of the Time Lord.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who’s never watched a single episode of Dr Who.

If you want to get into it, start with the 9th Doctor (The one starring Christopher Eccleston). I was fantastic!
