For those of you that enjoyed StarCraft 2 it should be good news that Blizzard is working on a expansion called Heart of the Swarm.

This new content will focus on the events that happened with Sarah Kerrigan, after her powers as Queen of the blades were stripped from her she remains a being of great psionic power.

Will she attempt to take control of the Swarm again or does she have a new purpose?

Kerrigan will be a playable character throughout most of the missions, She will have multiple roles in battle, these roles are called Battle focus, as you progress through the game you will unlock new abilities for these roles.

One of the features of StarCraft 2 is ability to upgrade your units, players will be able to do the same in the upcoming expansion, the Zerg units will not only be upgradable but you will actually be able to evolve them into one of two advanced units.

There will also be graphical upgrades to Zerg units especially. The campaign will have approximately 20 missions, that said the campaign of Wings of Liberty went down quite quick.

If you liked Wings of Liberty then this will definitely intrigue you, as for myself I’m not that sure…

Blizzard is at hard work with Diablo 3 at the moment, and Heart of the Swarm is due some time next year, I personally would be too busy having sleepless nights with Diablo 3 to worry about an expansion for StarCraft 2.

I am a huge fan of Blizzards work although I do not think they should be juggling two giant titles like Diablo and StarCraft at the same time…possibly we will see even more delays from them.
