Looks like that wascally wabbit and his speech-impediment afflicted pals are going to be making a return to the big screen soon, as Warner Bros has tapped some new talent to write a new take on the beloved characters for a new big budget film project.

Be vewwy, vewwy quiet, I’m descwating iconic tweasures over here….

Warner Bros. has recruited Saturday Night Live writer Jenny Slate to help create a new film which would once again blend live-action and CGI, and have grabbed Seth “Dark Shadows” Grahame-Smith to help produce it, alongside David Katzenberg.

It’s been quite a while since we last saw the ACME gang, as they last appeared back in 2003 alongside Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman in Looney Tunes: Back in action. Which I still have not seen for some reason, by that’s partly because of my deep-seated hatred for anything that has Steve Martin in it.

Beyond the news of who’s writing and producing, nothing else has been revealed yet, but expect the usual gang of nutjobs to appear amidst dynamite and other various running gags.

No. Gods, no. I grew up on Looney Toons. It’s what gave me my twisted sense of humour, and I’ve already seen it tarnished enough with modern remakes. Just leave this one alone WB. Pretty please.
