IpMan3-57285

I’m a man of diverse cinematic tastes. Sometimes I want to watch a grueling 2.5 hour long odyssey on the power of revenge told in the most artistic way possible, and sometimes times I want to have my worldview expanded by informative filmmaking that evokes a full spectrum of emotions. And other times, I just want to watch Donnie Yen punch people in the face really fast and hard. And that’s what Ip Man 3 appears to be delivering in spades.

As a huge fan of the previous Ip Man movies, I’ve been eagerly waiting for this third installment in the sorta-kinda maybe/not quite historical martial arts franchise, especially since the person that Yen often tries to punch in the face in this latest chapter is actually Mike Tyson, who sure as hell is going to be punching back even harder.

We get a nice look at their punching as well as those of a few other individuals in this latest trailer for the kung fu threequel, with the cherry on top being the best look we’ve yet seen of Danny Chan as a young Bruce Lee who in real life was the pupil of Yen’s Master Ip.

Ip Man 3 has already opened in a number of countries around the world, and although there are only a handful of official reviews in thus far, it is sitting on 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, which means that this movie may just be every bit as good as it looks!

Thanks to all those unrelated spin-offs, I actually forgot they never made a third movie

Hopefully it will make up for the snorefest of the second film.
