It’s The Muppet Show! And I’m not talking about an annual get-together of The Movies staff for once! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
For many years, you could always rely on one gang of misfit puppets to poke fun at Hollywood and several guest stars. The Muppet played the music, lighted the lights and was generally a swell way to spend half an hour as it existed in various incarnations, before Muppets Tonight drew the curtain on that show over a decade ago.
Right now though, two successful movies have helped reignite interest in a new prime-time show, as TV Line is reporting that the show is definitely in the works at ABC with The Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady acting as co-writer and executive producer:
The Muppets gather excitedly at ABC for a meeting about the new Muppet Show. However, the show will not move forward unless Miss Piggy signs on.
While the previous Muppets movie sequel failed critically at the box office when compared to the original film from a few years back, it did succeed in reigniting interest in the property. And honestly, the show needs to come back. There’s a ton of celebrities who need to be on the receiving end of some puppet humour. And I’m not just saying that because I want to substitute Bobo The Bear for a real bear when One Direction guest-stars.
What do you think? Would you be keen to see the cast on a smaller screen and wonder why the hell Fozzie Bear is popular?

I like the muppets, even if I cannot earn 77$/hourly in watching them.
