The new international trailer for Kick-Ass 2 just owned your ass

As you might recall, we recently shared the extremely exciting red band trailer for Kick-Ass 2 with you, which featured more than its fair share of violence and strong language. I loved it, and I’m sure that a fair share of you did as well. What we have for you today is the new international trailer for the film, as well as a character poster for Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Let’s jump right into it, shall we?

Clearly, this trailer sets a very different tone for the film and I enjoyed getting a bit more of a feel for the “lighter” side of Kick-Ass 2. It is also great to see a lot of what Hit-Girl will be up to, but I have to admit that I’m even more curious about the rest of the characters…would it kill them to throw a little Night Bitch my way? Sorry, OUR way. I meant to say our way. Promise!

Here’s the official synopsis, from Comingsoon:

After Kick-Ass’ insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes, our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist —reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl can prevent their annihilation.

I’m going to leave you all with the close up of Jim Carrey’s face because nothing says “comic book film” quite like a middle-aged man with a golden tooth. I do believe, however, that Colonel Stars and Stripes will kick some serious ass in the film, and my excitement level for this is through the roof – and has been for a long time now.

  1. I was going to stand in the corner, pluck my suspenders and say something ridiculous like how I’m above kickass, and how the Dark Knight is all the superhero this banana needs… but SWEET MOTHER SPANDEX!! I loved the first movie, and I’m definitely keen on the sequel.

One of my favourite comis from the last 5 years, and even though the movie wasn’t that close to them in some of the details, it was true to the mood of the comics. This one is by far one of my most anticipated movies for the year!
