The rules are simple in the trailer for EDEN

Until today, the name Megan Griffiths didn’t mean much to me, until I saw the first trailer for her upcoming film Eden. It does seem like Griffiths has been busy the last few years, with her being attached in one way or the other to quite a few indie titles. This experience seems to have paid off well as the above mentioned trailer for Eden definitely looks very promising.

Let’s start off with the synopsis:

The film tells the true story of a Korean-American teenager (Jamie Chung) who is kidnapped from a bar in New Mexico and transformed into a sex slave in Las Vegas by a band of ruthless international thugs. Beau Bridges plays an avuncular federal marshal, a good ol’ boy, who turns out to be one of the operation’s masterminds while Matt O’Leary is equally repellent as the boss’s wildly erratic, drug-addled right-hand man.

Imagine Liam Neeson never chose to track down his daughter after she was abducted in Taken? It’s a terrifying thought but since the film is based on a true story, it’s even more so shocking as we witness how a kidnapped girl gets pushed into the Las Vegas sex trade by none other than General Landry himself, Beau Bridges, who manages to not only be convincing as a crooked US Marshal but manages to chill us to the bone as well. It is really good to see him in a more bad guy role though, as I’ve always considered him a fine actor – I mean, you have to have serious skill to manage the Stargate program, am I right? Well, at least Kervyn will agree.

Eden might turn out to be a big winner for Megan Griffiths, but since it is only getting a limited release on the 20th of March, we will have to wait and see if it will grace our shores with a screening but it is definitely a film I will be keeping my eye on.

Take a look at the trailer:

“There is nothing like the unconditional love of an animal…” – it chills to the bone, doesn’t it?
