Transformers Age of Extinction

I’m glad that we live in a world where the Transformers movies are being made. Don’t get me wrong, I think they’re shallow and lame, with plots that are muddling at best and non-existent at worst, and actors that are just there to cash in a pay-check. But, as long as the genre of robots-punch-a-thing-and-there-are-explosions continues to dominate at the box office, we can be grateful that there’s something paving the way for more movies like Pacific Rim. Which was a way better robots-punch-a-thing-and-there-are-explosions movie than Transformers, but we can’t all be Guillermo del Toro.

So I guess Optimus Prime was right when he said the rules have changed. And Michael Bay-splosion is determined to make the most of it while it lasts.

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” is the fourth film in director Michael Bay’s global blockbuster franchise. Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Li Bingbing, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, T. J. Miller, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor and Titus Welliver star. The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng, Titus Welliver, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, John Goodman, Ken Watanabe, John DiMaggio, Mark Ryan, Robert Foxworth and Reno Wilson, Transformers: Age of Extinction will be punching things and exploding on our screens on June 27.

I look forward to these kinds of movies. Sometimes it’s fun to just sit back, switch off the old brain & be entertained by skop, skiet en donner.
