It took the video game world by storm, people couldn’t get enough of it even with two story expansions tucked into its belt and now The Witcher looks set to conquer television. Netflix dropped a teaser not too long ago for their upcoming adaptation of the Andrezej Sapkowski novels starring Henry Cavill as the titular slayer of monsters, but today sees not just a fresh look at the Witcher himself but a glimpse at Freya Allan as Princess Ciri and Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer.

And so far? They look pretty damn awesome.

Need more? Well showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich also decided to drop a look at the show’s logo:

For even more added tidbits of streaming entertainment, here’s the official synopsis from Netflix that describes the show in all its tantalising glory:

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

While the show is still a ways away, there’ll be a sneak glimpse this month at the mecca of entertainment, the San Diego Comic Con. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go reprogram my phone so that it stops referring to the main character as Gerald of Nvidia.

Its based on the books, not the CDPR game. In the books he has a sword, not swords. The books are epic and worth a read.

Yea, well, if they went 100% with the book Geralt would’ve been a skinny, unattractive and often mopey character…which I doubt they’ll do for the Netflix series. XD

I see they’ve yet to get around to casting the breasts.

Must be negotiating the size of their… contracts.
