If you’ve been eagerly awaiting Lamb of God, the directorial debut of Diablo Cody, the Oscar winning screenwriter responsible for Juno and Young Adult (and Jennifer’s Body, but we tend to just pretend that that one never happened), then I have some bad news for you: Lamb of God doesn’t exist anymore.
No need to start flavouring your coffee with salty tears though, as the film is still around, it’s just gone and got itself a new name, Paradise, and the dramedy has just released its first trailer. As well as possibly the most uninspiring poster the world has ever seen.
After surviving a plane crash a young conservative woman suffers a crisis of faith.
While I have to admit, the trailer does seem to pile on the clichés and could be cheerier than mouse farts, according to folks who’ve read the script and seen early cuts of the film, Cody and her stars – especially Julianne Hough – handles it all really well so that it comes across as charming and uplifting instead of making you want spew your lunch every scene.
Paradise airs this week, August 8, on DirectTV in the States, before getting a limited theatrical release on October 11, 2013. Until such time, you can look at the film’s poster and marvel at its horribleness.
