I have to be honest with you and say that I haven’t seen Insurgent, the second movie in the Divergent series, yet and so have no clue what is actually going to happen in the last movies. I say movies because much like The Hunger Games the final story is broken into two, just to stretch it out and capitalize on marketing and what not. I mean come on, if Peter Jackson can can fit Return of the King into a single movie than surely Director Robert Schwentke can do the same?

Either way, the road to the end has now begun with the first trailer being released. It takes more of a ‘previously in the other movies I cannot remember’ angle so probably a good start in the build up to next year’s part 1. It certainly has a Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials aesthetic feel to it which make sense as these types of movies are literally the same thing with a different lick of paint. Have a watch and see what you think.

Lots of pretty visuals and then the good/bad guy (I assume, haven’t read the novels) Jeff Daniels says ‘let’s save the world’! I don’t know about you but I just don’t trust him! Let’s hope that this installment goes down a little better with critics than the last Divergent, a movie that was drawn out far too long, according to our very own Tyrant Kervyn, and suffered from a self defense system built around the chicken dance. Cluck that!

Divergent: Allegiant will land 18 March, 2016.

  1. I really hope they hired some excellent screenwriters because honesty Allegiant was one of the worst books I’ve ever read. But I will see this movie because Theo James.
