Even though this will get me crucified, I’m going to admit that I loved the 2003 Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck. It was great at the time, everyone was well cast and Daredevil was such a fresh property back then as well. It also gave the comic some much needed exposure, and with it, some quality writing and art. These days, Daredevil is a street level hero who faces threats that range from a psychopathic marksman to killer ninjas in the burough that he protects. And right now, it looks like the man without fear is translating that grittiness perfectly onto the smaller screen.

“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Netflix will release the entire season of Daredevil on April 10, for all you binge-watchers out there. And I’ve got a feeling that I’m going to lose my eyesight after searing them with 13 straight hours of Daredevil action.

    Okay, that looked good.

Also, I enjoyed Daredevil – but the director’s cut is superior to the original

Normal cut is an ok movie with freaking horrible wire-work and tons of cheese. The director’s cut is far superior. But still with horrible wire-work.

Really liking what I’m seeing here. Feels like they’re going for a similar tone established by the likes of Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis and Ed Brubaker’s runs on the character, and that is most definitely not a bad thing.
