Grumpy Cat TV Movie

It is with utter sadness and a drop of hope in humanity that I write this piece. It isn’t related to war, it isn’t related to poverty or even the plight of our bees. No, this is much worse. Lifetime has made a Grumpy Cat movie called Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.

The Lifetime Channel (a rather ironic title considering the lack of want to live I feel after reading this news) has made a Garfieldtype Grumpy Cat film based on the internet meme to make sure our Christmas Holidays are ruined by Hollywood’s in-your-face hit and run money drive-by. All I can say is:

grumpy-cat-Please-No

The first trailer in what promises to be a smash-hit disaster movie has been released and after watching it I actually had to bash myself in the head with my laptop in order to jump-start my brain. Full of terrible hysterical one-liners and a cat’s voice (by Aubrey Plaza from Parks and Recreation) that sparkles with as much personality as turnip, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever has it all.

Here’s what Lifetime has to say on the synopsis:

Grumpy Cat is a lonely cat living in a mall pet shop. Because she never gets chosen by customers, she develops a sour outlook on life… until one day during the holidays, a very special 12-year-old girl named Chyrstal enters the pet store and falls in love with her after realizing she is the only person who can hear this unique cat talk. As the two develop a close friendship during the holiday rush, Grumpy reluctantly thwarts the kidnapping of an exotic dog she dislikes, and on Christmas Eve rescues Chyrstal after the mall closes. Through her adventures, will Grumpy learn the true meaning of Christmas? Or will it be, in her words, the “Worst. Christmas. Ever?”

Make sure you have 29 November written down in your diary as the day the world stood still.
