The Purge was a ludicrous movie, mainly due to its bonkers, unbelievable concept that definitely required the expulsion, never mind the suspension of disbelief. Apparently nobody told The Purge this though, as it behaved as if it was just like all the other home-invasion thrillers, and in so doing produced a surprisingly effective little white knuckle ride of a film.

Making $89 million off a budget of just $3 million, another ridiculous/thrilling chapter was a sure thing. We got a very brief glimpse at the new chapter in the first teaser trailer released two months ago for The Purge: Anarchy, but now a full new trailer is finally here, taking us back into this absurd psychopathic wet dream future America, where for one night of the year, all crimes – including bloody homicide – gets a free pass so that the weak can be culled. Better stay indoors!

The New Founders of America invite you to celebrate your annual right to Purge. The Purge: Anarchy, the sequel to summer 2013’s sleeper hit that opened to No. 1 at the box-office, sees the return of writer/director/producer James DeMonaco to craft the next terrifying chapter of dutiful citizens preparing for their country’s yearly 12 hours of anarchy.

The Purge: Anarchy stars Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez and Keith Stanfield, and you can purge yourself of some cash when you go see it from July 18, 2014.
