After that disastrous overly dour first trailer, it appears that Marvel have finally realized something about the upcoming Ant-Man: it’s kind of silly.

Once they stopped trying to sell the shrinking hero as a serious character, everything about the troubled production suddenly started clicking into place, including that hilarious and greatly improved second trailer.

Now a new extended TV spot has been revealed (along with that bullet dodging poster up top) that continues to show us more of that kooky humour as well our first look at Michael Peña’s character and a few new glimpses of that uniquely miniscule action.

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Ant-Man was directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd (who also co-wrote a new draft of the scrip with Adam McKay), Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Michael Douglas. It is set for release on July 17, 2015.
