This new epic trailer takes us through Chris Nolan's entire Dark Knight Trilogy

In about 5 hours time I’ll be watching The Dark Knight Rises; the final chapter in director Christopher Nolan’s Batman magnum opus, a sprawling epic that began blowing our minds all the way back in 2005. And what a journey it has been.

I didn’t choose the word “chapter” earlier by accident, as what Nolan has appeared to do is really craft one exceptional tale with a definite beginning, middle and end. So what would it look like if a trailer was released for this entire trilogy, as if it’s one massive story? Well click on and find out.

I can fully see myself sitting, a year from now, watching all three films back to back as one massive narrative. And I think that’s exactly how Nolan meant for us to see it. The way he’s managed to keep each of the two previous films as compelling standalone stories, while still slotting into a grand overall arc for Bruce Wayne has been masterful, and now there’s just one more piece of this story to tell.

And if that trailer doesn’t get you excited for it, then nothing will.

Synopsis:

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
