Neighbors, everybody needs good neighbors! Kervyn and I may usually wake up at the same time and get our morning paper while swearing at once another from across the moat we had installed between our houses, but we get along actually. Unlike Zac Effron and Seth Rogen, who are going to war in this latest trailer for Neighbors. With dildos.

Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne lead the cast of Neighbors, a comedy about a young couple suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby.

Look like your typical raunchy comedy of old school vs new school? Maybe not. Reviews from SXSW have painted a positive picture for the film, with Variety calling it “lewder, weirder, louder, leaner, meaner and more winningly stupid” than anything that Rogen has done before.  HitFix loved the film, calling it “uproariously funny and almost breathtakingly dirty.”

All that, and more as other critics detailed how well shot the film was, while others described the movie as having a ton of heart beneath the toilet humour. And judging by that trailer, I’m pretty stoked to see the film now. At eleven reviews, the movie even has a 100% rating on film aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. That will no doubt change, but it’s a good showing so far.

Neighbors is out on May 9, and stars Seth Rogen, Zac Effron, Rose Byrne and Dave Franco. Nick “Get Him To The Greek” Stoller directs.
