agent 47

As a gamer I’ve always enjoyed the trials of Agent 47. As smooth an assassin as his bald head, he is cool under pressure, can fight in the shadows like a ninja, and likes to get dressed up about as much as Darryn. So when the first movie came out I cried a little inside, fearing that the game-to-movie curse would strike. Spoiler alert: it did. That being said it wasn’t Super Mario Bros shockingly bad. I mean it has Timothy Olyphant and the gorgeous Olga Kurylenko in it,  after all.

So when I heard about a NEW Hitman movie once again the tears welled up, that is until I saw the latest trailer. And what can I say, it looks frigging fantastic! Have a watch and nod in agreement.

Hitman: Agent 47 is directed by relative newcomer Aleksander Bach with a style reminiscent of the Wachowski siblings. When I first heard it would be Rupert Friend (Homeland) who would be shaving his head I had concerns. I couldn’t picture him in the role, not by a long shot. Luckily those concerns have been laid to rest with this trailer.

This time round Agent 47 goes up against Spock, I mean Zachary Quinto, in a battle to stop an army of genetically engineered soldiers from wreaking havoc. The key to the soldiers’ creation lies in the DNA of Katia Van Dees, played by Hanna Ware, and the only thing that is getting in the way of this dastardly plan is someone with a bad case of alopecia. Cue a whole bunch of awesome fight scenes, helicopters, and the most ludicrous of tests – playing Houdini while tied to a jet engine – and you have what I really hope will be a fun movie.

Hitman: Agent 47 will strike you on 21 August.

  1. OMG. When I looked at the header image the first thing I thought was, “Wow, The Hoff looks really young.” Now I can’t unsee it.

I actually had no problem with Rupert Friend taking on the role. He already played a CIA assassin in Homeland, so the jump was not too big

Wait wait wait wait wait wait. You mean to tell me that 47 was spotted BEFORE he killed his target and while in his SUIT? Like no disguise at all?

    I call BS!
