The latest season of Formula One has been particularly gripping this year, especially for those drivers who weren’t using Pirelli tyres. But it’s the kind of sport that has some legendary history, of epic races and rivalries that took place on the tracks.

Rush chronicles one such battle between drivers. Here’s the latest trailer for it which focuses on that rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

After several trailers showing the more glamorous side of the sport, it’s kind of refreshing to see the rivalry aspect being played up more. That’s what this is all really about actually, as Hunt and Lauda were polar opposites of one another.

And if director Ron Howard can capture this competitive spirit perfectly before he goes on to film numbers backwards for another Dan Brown adaptation, then we might finally have an F1 film that will wipe the memory of Sly Stallone’s Driven from our minds.

Rush races for a podium finish on September 27. and stars Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Bruhl, Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, Stephen Mangan, Christian McKay, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jamie de Courcey,Pierfrancesco Favino and Natalie Dormer.
