I’ve got an annual tradition. Near Christmas, I plop my ass down and watch anything starring Seth Rogen or James Franco. For the last two years, I’ve kind of been spoiled, having the two actors not only together but actually starring in some damn good comedy films in the form of This Is The End and The Interview.

This year however, the tradition breaks, as Rogen returns with some new pals in tow. That’s Anthony Mackie and Joseph Gordon Levitt, who’ll be donning the yuletide fashion crime sweaters, and partying the night away:

From Jonathan Levine, the acclaimed director of 50/50, comes the new comedy The Night Before. Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) have been friends since childhood, and for a decade, their yearly Christmas Eve reunion has been an annual night of debauchery and hilarity. Now that they’re entering adulthood, the tradition is coming to an end, and to make it as memorable as possible, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball – the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.

While there’ll most likely be a tender moment where the trio of silly season misfits do realise that they’ve gotten too old for this kind of debauchery, I’m more or less looking forward to Seth Rogen on shrooms. And various other drugs.

The Night Before will be wrecking Christmas on November 25, and also stars Lizzy Caplan, Michael Shannon, and Mindy Kaling.

Seth Rogen? Again?! Really? Ugh… Sorry, but I honestly don’t think he’s funny. First saw him in “Knocked Up”, which I thought was terrible, and it’s been downhill ever since. I have houseplants that are more entertaining… I honestly don’t get it – he swears and smokes weed and suddenly he’s hilarious? Yeah right…
