For years, the tale of Mad Max and a fourth movie have been the stuff of Hollywood legend. Having been in production for years, it’s the kind of film that sounded crazier than Mel Gibson, as the idea of a chase across the desert doing battle with Word Burgers and Charlize Theron sounded proper bonkers. That film finally arrives in 2015, with a long overdue trailer finally debuting this past weekend.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.

Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.

And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

Cars, maniacs, badasses and insanity on four wheels. That’s all I ask fro from a Mad Max movie, and it looks like this time, the raggedy man will deliver. Mad Max: Fury Road arrives on May 15 next year, and starsTom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosei Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

George “Happy Feet” Miller once again directs.

Hardy that doesn’t sound like Sean Connery with a speech impediment. I’m sold.

Am I the only who felt this seemed too much Thunderdome and too little Road Warrior?
