sharktopus vs whalewolf

One thing I like to do first thing in the morning is sip on my coffee, bite into toast and view trailers while my brain slowly warms up for the day ahead. That is not really achievable when what you are watching strips the last few hundred million years of cranial development and leaves you gasping for a new cerebral cortex. Which is what will happen when you watch the trailer below.

Coming from SyFy,  the channel that brought you Defiance and Dominion – decent shows made on modest budgets compared to the likes of HBO’s Game of Thrones – is a new Grade-Z movie called Sharktopus Vs. Whalewolf. No, I didn’t just make that up.

I get that the original Sharknado had a cult following of sorts because it was so bad; it stood alone as a sort of warning, a ‘you are lucky this isn’t the only thing you have to watch’. Then came Sharknado 2, Sharknado 3 and I gave up. Money doesn’t necessarily mean you have a good show/movie with a good story, but when the movie you are making cashes in on every single convention ALREADY done in similar movies, wears its cheap factor on its lapel and actually looks contrived, I have to ask you WHY?! Who is this targeted at and are there really that many interested people out there to warrant spending more than $10 on rubbish like this? I will do almost anything for our readers, but reviewing this? That’s a low only Trevor can reach.

Expect IQs to drop 19 July.
