In life, there are very, very few certainties: Death, taxes and another Step Up movie. The dancing franchise has consistently popped and locked its way into the box office charts with each installment, as their fans kept clamouring for more of the same. So how do you up the ante while keeping that winning formula though? Simple: you copy The Avengers. No, the Hulk will not be doing any head spins any time soon, but rather for the latest installment, Step Up All In (which is a grammatically confusing title), Lionsgate have assembled a crew comprised of stars from all the previous movies (no Channing Tatum though, he’s too busy having a career that doesn’t involve twerking) having to work together to overcome a great, intergalactic evil hellbent on the conquest of Earth. Or just dance better than some other guys in Vegas. One of those two.

In the latest entry in the Step Up franchise, all-stars from previous installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.

I’m not going to lie. I’m probably going to watch this movie. And that’s simply because Chadd Smith (from Step Up 3D and Step Up Revolution) is in it. Who is Chadd Smith? Only the guy that does the greatest robot dance the world has ever seen, and I’ll watch this movie just for his dancing. Which is pretty much par for the course for these movies really. Expect spectacular, physics defying dance moves and not much else, and you’ll be happy. Expect more than that (e.g. good dialogue, characters you care about, etc), and you’ll find yourself getting served. But like, in a bad way, if you get the street lingo.

Step Up All In stars Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Adam Sevani, Misha Gabriel, Alyson Stoner, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, Mari Koda, Chris Scott, Luis Rosado, Chadd Smith and Martin and Facundo Lombard. It will be sliding into cinemas on its head on July 25, 2014.
