I used to describe The Last Ship as a guilty pleasure, but I’ve come to realize that’s not a fair description as it implies that I like the show despite its mistakes. And does the military post-apocalyptic action thriller TV series make mistakes? Sure. But over the course of the last two seasons it’s also just kept giving viewers some of the best military action to be found on the small screen, wrapped around some really tense storytelling. Also, I hear from my wife that Eric Dane in a pressed white navy uniform is a huge plus.
Well, you can get all of the above and more – including what I think is the very same double staircase lobby used in The Matrix Reloaded – in the first trailer for the show’s upcoming third season. The trailer cleverly doesn’t reveal the outcome of last season’s huge cliffhanger finale as Rhona Mitra’s Dr. Rachel Scott was gunned down in a hotel corridor, but does reveal that the show will be heading to Asia this season.
The Last Ship also stars Bridget Regan, Adam Baldwin, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Jocko Sims, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Bren Foster and Kevin Michael Martin. Season 3 debuts in the US on June 12, 2016.

I dig this show. It is totally OTT American Power in a way that would even make John Wayne feel soft – and I am 100% certain its the kind of stuff that breeds Donald Trump supporters. But it’s also nice to have an easy-going and fun post-apocalyptic adventure.
