Elves aren’t supposed to be evil, are they. Movies and fictions are filled with such examples, from Legolas in Lord of the Rings through to Kervyn when he’s hopped up after huffing the photocopier ink in the office. But Thor: The Dark World is bringing in a few Dark Elves, with former Doctor Christoper Eccleston trading his sonic screwdriver in for some pale make-up. Here’s a closer peek at the man behind the darkness.
Sure, it doesn’t show much, but the dark elf is in the details. Honestly, whoever is doing the make-up on Eccleston deserves an award, as he looks ridiculously plausible in his role of Malekith. And that mixture of sci-fi and magic? Sweet Yddrissal, that looks visually fantastic.
Thor: The Dark World awakens November 8, and also stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba. Alan Taylor directs.
