Concept art! There used to be an age where Hollywood would devour artists and spit them out like a piece of gristle after they’d helped design the look and feel of a movie. Times changed, and these days concept art teams are getting some well deserved recognition. And the folks who worked on Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes deserve plenty of those kudos.
ConceptArtWorld posted the following images above, just ahead of the launch of a hardcover book that details the fine art that went into both recent Ape films. There’s some great imagery there, especially with the apes beginning to take on human trends such as clothing and rudimentary weapons. Of course, you can see all that in the film. Haven’t seen it yet? Well you should, as it is rather good actually.
