Tom Hardy is an absolutely incredible actor. And based on all the swooning I’ve seen online and heard in cinemas, quite the looker. So if you were to ask most fans of film and/or Hardy’s face, what would be a great improvement to the world, I’m sure that many of them would respond with “More Tom Hardy, please”. And it appears that somebody upstairs has been listening and has given the world Legend.

Pulling a page out of Jean Claude Van Damme’s book – luckily/unluckily without the obligatory butt shot – Hardy will be playing both Reggie and Ron Kray, the real-life identical twin gangster siblings who ruled London in the 1950’s and 1960’s with a duo of iron fists. And guns. And slick dance moves. And really whatever else was needed to get the job done, if this first, crackling trailer is anything to go by.

Hardy appears to be on peak form here, and with the type of talent found behind the camera in Oscar-winning writer-director Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential, Mystic River), this is really a movie to keep an eye on later in the year.

From Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. LEGEND is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray Twins.

Legend also stars Emily Browning, Taron Egerton and Christopher Eccleston. It is scheduled for release on September 11, 2015.
