If there’s one thing that a Thor movie has to have, it’s a touch of sibling rivalry. I dig Chris Hemsworth as the son of Asgard, but it’s clear that Tom Hiddleston is the real acting force behind the throne of Odin in this franchise. Thor: The Dark World will most likely be the last time we see Hiddleston don a mischievous smirk as the trickster god for quite a while, but according to him, it’s going to be one hell of a ride to the finish line.

“It’s a roller coaster, no question,” Hiddleston said to MTV about reprising his role and the film itself. “It’s full of ups and downs and loop-de-loops and twists and turns. It will take you to places you haven’t seen before.” Thor: The Dark World sees Thor team up with his brother Loki in order to combat a threat from the leader of the Dark Elves, Malekith the Accursed. “They have an ancient, ancient grudge against Asgard and against the reign of Odin, and they’re back”, Hiddleston said. But don’t expect him to be an overnight ally to Thor when they do battle:

Loki has a very complicated relationship with Thor. He is an agent of chaos without equal in the world he inhabits. He knows his true nature. He knows he doesn’t belong in the family of Asgard, and he’s locked away in the beginning of the film in the deepest, darkest recesses of the dungeon as public enemy number one.

But will this really be the last time that we see Hiddleston then? After all, that ass-handing he got from the Hulk in the Avengers must have left a sour taste in his mouth:

I do feel like there’s some unfinished business between Loki and the Hulk. I feel like he didn’t get a fair fight. Who knows, you’ll have to see what happens in ‘The Dark World’ to find out where Loki finishes up.
