You ever watch a trailer for a film and it feels like you’re actually watching the entire film? That’s the boneheaded result of the Hollywood marketing machine somehow coming to the conclusion that if they show us the Reader’s Digest version of the entire movie once for free, that we’ll then pay to see it again.
The latest overly-exposed culprit in this regard is The Amazing Spider-Man. There has been a steady barrage of clips over the last few weeks. And while each touch on very different parts of the film, spliced together though, they tell a different, but very complete story.
Compiled together by Vimeo user Sleepyjunk, this 25 min long video is a collection of all the scenes in the trailers, clips and featurettes that Sony has released thus far. And what may start off as something cool, soon becomes pretty obnoxious as you realize that you have essentially just watched an abridged version of the entire film.
You can watch this clip at your own risk. Personally, I only made it a few mins in, as I prefer to watch my movies when I’m actually, you know, watching my movies. Crazy, I know.

Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
