It’s been about a decade since I last really, really enjoyed a Vince Vaughn movie (Dodgeball for life, yo!). Sure, in the time since then I’ve often thought I would have a blast with a Vaughn vehicle (The Watch, I’m looking at you!), only to end up as disappointed as a pervert in CUM Book Store. Whether Unfinished Business is more of the same or a return to form for Vaughn is still unclear at this point, but the movie’s chances are drastically increased through the inclusion of the always great Dave Franco and Tom Wilkinson, who appear to be really on their game here.
The comedy – which sees Vaughn reteaming with his Delivery Man director Kevin Scott – has a new very NSFW Red Band trailer out, and maybe it’s the fact that it’s perfectly synced to Lonely Island’s “Like a Boss”, or the sheer physical impossibility of what Franco gets up to at the end of it, but this definitely looks funny enough for me to give it a watch despite Vaughn’s recent track record.
A hard-working small business owner (Vince Vaughn) and his two associates (Tom Wilkinson, Dave Franco) travel to Europe to close the most important deal of their lives. But what began as a routine business trip goes off the rails in every imaginable – and unimaginable – way, including unplanned stops at a massive sex fetish event and a global economic summit.
Unfinished Business also stars Nick Frost, Sienna Miller and James Marsden. It’s scheduled to be released LIKE A BOSS! on March 6, 2015.
