Sure, the Man of Steel may be popping up in the middle of the year, but you don’t have long to go exactly before you actually get a dose of Kryptonian action again. The animated side over at Warner Bros has been knocking out some quality straight to DVD films over the last couple of years, from Superman vs The Elite, the recent two parter for The Dark Knight Returns.
And for their next film, Superman will be going toe to toe with Braniac, in Superman Unbound.
Starring the voices of Matt “White Collar” Bomer as Superman, Stana Katic and Molly Quin as Lois Lane and Supergirl, the story is based off of the Geoff Johns and Gary Frank comic book run that saw Supes taking on the definitive version of Braniac. John “Fringe” Noble is handling the antagonist voice role for the bottler of cities, as Superman must find a way to not only save Metropolis, but also the city of Kandor, which is home to over 100 000 survivng Kryptonians.
It’s out on Blou-Ray, DVD and VOD later this year, and while it isn’t the best Superman story out there, it’s still a damn fun adventure film.
