Even though the WWE may be about as extreme as 1990s sitcom mom engaging in rap, there’s at least one time of the year when the sports entertainment attempts to up the ante on their brand of action. Extreme Rules is the name of the show, and now that the Saudi Arabia events are done and dusted, it’s time to move the story in several feuds further. With tables, ladders and chairs. Oh my.
Here’s a look at the match card for Sunday, which features both RAW and Smackdown trading chair shots in pursuit of the gold:

- Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival vs. The Usos
- Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley (Last Man Standing Match)
- WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak vs. Tony Nese
- United States Champion Ricochet vs. AJ Styles
- SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs. Big E and Xavier Woods vs. Heavy Machinery
- SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (2-on-1 Handicap Match)
- WWE Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe
- Universal Champion Seth Rollins and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans (Winners Take All Mixed Tag Team Extreme Rules Match)
- The Undertaker and Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre (No Holds Barred Match)
Alright, some decent matches right there. The cruiserweight division is still heavily underrated right now, while seeing some other underused names on the kick-off show should provide a decent spark to the flame of extreme rules. If the WWE can avoid those utterly hokey finishes that diminishes the quality of their product that is.
My predictions for this Sunday? The Revival will get buried yet again, Ricochet versus AJ Styles should be electrifying and the return of the Undertaker will provide some nostalgia while Roman Reigns soaks up a ton of physical abuse until the Deadman can enter the ring. With reports of Braun Strowman dealing with injury, I’ve got a feeling that Bobby Lashley will emerge victorious while Nikki Cross will probably get double-crossed by Alexa Bliss.
Should be an interesting showdown, if WWE is truly serious about getting EEEEEEEXXXXXXTREEEEEEEME.

BRING ECW-ESQUE MATCHES BACK!
They need to wrap up the story with McMahon and Reigns, and the Undertaken has to retire. We all still love him, but the last few times I’ve seen him in a promo, his age is showing! You’ve had an amazing career Undertaker – turn it in now!
The other matches look pretty cool. I wonder if they are turning Cesaro babyface again! The Strowman/Lashley battle has also lost momentum, so they should be looking at retiring that conflict!
The Ricochet/AJ Styles fight should be a killer. I’m wondering if I would like AJ as a heel!
