WWE Fastlane (2)

The road to Wrestlemania has begun, and it’s on the Fastlane right now baby! The final pay-per-view event before the showcase of the immortals in April is on this Sunday, as RAW pits their best superstars against one another in matches that will have ramifications for the match card of the biggest event in the wrasslin’ calendar.

This year marks the third Fastlane event, a special PPV that began in 2015. Highlights of previous Fastlane matches? Roman Reigns beating both Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose in a triple-threat match that earned him the right to face Triple H at Wrestlemania 32. And we all know just how well that worked out. Spoiler, it didn’t as every single fan got utterly fed up with the WWE attempting to push Reigns down their throats as the next face of the industry.

Anyway! Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler still put on a hell of a show in the second Fastlane, while the original event was home to an utterly bizarre match-up of brother vs brother in the form of Goldust vs Stardust. Will this Sunday be as weird? Probably not, but here’s the match card to take a look at:

  • Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Goldberg
  • Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman
  • Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Jack Gallagher
  • Raw Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair
  • Raw Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass
  • Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax
  • Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa vs. The Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar (Kickoff Match)

Current prediction: Kevin Owens retains his championship over Goldberg thanks to interference from Brock Lesnar in the main event, Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman ends in a tie and Jack Gallagher does something extraordinary when he faces the king of the Cruiserweights known as Neville. Like risking life and limb with a death-defying move once again.

It’s all going down this Sunday, but I’ll have the results up first thing on Monday morning in case you miss out on it or do more normal things like actually sleep during the twilight hours that Fastlane is broadcast.

I hope Goldberg’s ego allows him to have a stellar match with Owens….
