RAW April 22

WWE Monday Night RAW took place from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Here’s all the action that went down last night.

AJ Styles def. United States Champion Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio to advance to Raw’s main event

With Brock Lesnar out of the way, the road to the WWE Universal championship seems a lot more open than ever before. Seth Rollins may be a fighting champion, but it looks like there’s no shortage of challengers who are hungry to steal the gold from him, as RAW kicked off with a race to find a new number one contender.

AJ Styles came out on top of that triple threat scramble, as the phenomenal one’s jump to RAW saw him triumph over Samoan Joe and Rey Mysterio, using the master of the 619 as a wrecking ball to put Joe out for the count.

Naomi def. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Billie Kay

Baron Corbin def. The Miz and Drew McIntyre to advance to Raw’s main event

Meanwhile, the lone wolf managed to slip into the WWE Universal championship by the skin of his teeth. Stealing a pin on The Miz after he ran into a Claymore from Drew McIntyre, Corbin outright stole this match.

Sami Zayn addressed the WWE Universe

Bit of a bitter chap, isn’t he?

Cesaro def. Cedric Alexander

NXT Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders attacked The Lucha House Party

A few weeks ago they were the War Raiders. Last week, they were the Viking Experience. This week, Erik and Ivar are the Viking Raiders as the duo may have finally settled on a name for their tag team. Anyway, they also got some attention from tag team broskis Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, with the Lucha House Party feeling the brunt of their power.

Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch def. Alicia Fox; Lacey Evans attacked Lynch after the match

Wherever Becky Lynch goes, you can rest assured that Lacey Evans will strut her stuff and launch a sneak attack whenever the chance presents itself. Last night was no exception, as Lynch walked into a pair of haymakers from Evans right after the bell had rung after she’d defeated Alicia Fox.

Robert Roode def. Ricochet

No tag team partner (Chad Gable is back on Smackdown LIVE), no positive energy and an impressive new moustache? The newly-minted Robert Roode is a man on a mission, as he dismantled Ricochet in the ring to send a message to the WWE Universe.

AJ Styles def. Baron Corbin to earn a Universal Championship opportunity at WWE Money in the Bank

Barely two weeks into his RAW run, and AJ Styles is already in the main event scene as the phenomenal one had to deal with Baron Corbin if he wanted to face Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank. One Phenomenal Forearm later, and Corbin was down and out in the championship game.

I so agree. That had got real stale. But a Rollins vs. Styles match should be epic to watch.
