Usually, Monday Night RAW is a live event that airs over a few hours on US TV and the WWE Network. But with the locker room happening to be over the pond and throwing down in the UK, RAW was a taped experience this week. Kicking off at the O2 Arena in ye olde London, Monday Night RAW featured Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and a whole lot more. Here’s what went down.

Opening segment

RAW April 18 (8)

Dean Ambrose kicks off RAW, pulling in his “Ambrose Asylum” of fans into his promo while mocking Braun Strowman. Ambrose then introduced Shane McMahon, who also works the crowd up further as he continues to explain that the fans deserve better. Kevin Owens decided to interrupt at this point, and he’s not too happy with the “Shane McMahon era” which he believes has unjustly punished him by allowing Sami Zayn to be in the running for the Intercontinental championship.

Zayn appears, the two argue some more and then Jericho decides to chime in as well. Enough talk! The first match for the night is then settled, as Shane McMahon announces Chris Jericho will go up against Sami Zayn right there.

Chris Jericho defeats Sami Zayn

A great back and forth match between the two, but it was Jericho that would pick up a pinfall victory after hitting the Codebreaker on Zayn.

Backstage

A group hug between AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson as they slyly acknowledge working for that other place in the past.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated The Dudley Boyz

RAW April 18 (6)

The tag team tournament on RAW continued, with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady picking up a surprise win over the Dudley Boyz. Enzo and Cass scored a pinfall victory, after landing Rocket Launcher on their veteran foes.

Roman Reigns is in the ring

RAW April 18 (5)

And the British audience is sharing the heat with their American counterparts as they heavily boo Reigns. Expect that to be edited out. Reigns starts talking about Styles, putting him over for the audience and signalling for him to appear. Reigns promises that Styles will have the match of his life when the two meet at Payback, but it’s Anderson and Gallows who bring their promo to a screeching halt as they assault the current WWE World Heavyweight champ, leaving without Styles.

Backstage with Reigns

RAW April 18 (4)

Styles just wants to assure Reigns that he had absolutely nothing to do with that unprovoked ring assault. Totes, yo. Friends?

Baron Corbin defeats Fandango

While Dolph Ziggler was on commentary, the lone wolf Baron Corbin went head to dancing head with Fandango, eventually throwing the dancer into Ziggler at one point in the match. None too happy, Ziggler attacked Corbin after the bell had rung, but got his ass handed to him instead.

MizTV with Cesaro

RAW April 18 (3)

The Miz and Maryse are interviewing Cesaro, and it’s a civil segment without any interruptions at all. Ha, just kidding. Sheamus, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio and The New Day all make an appearance, which sets up the next match for the evening.

The New Day and Cesaro defeat The League Of Nations and The Miz

A massive eight-man tag team match, that ended with Cesaro picking up the team win after hitting Sheamus with the Neutralizer. Damn, it’s great to have Cesaro back in action again.

Backstage with WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Natalya

RAW April 18 (2)

The ongoing feud between the two Divas is heating up, as Natalya revealed on RAW that she’ll also have a family member in her corner to keep an eye on Charlotte and Ric Flair at Payback when she goes for the title. And that person just so happens to be Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Paige defeated Charlotte, Tamina Snuka, Naomi and Summer Rae

RAW April 18 (1)

Another massive eight-woman tag-team match, which saw Natalya pick up a win by forcing Charlotte to tap out of the Sharpshooter.

The Vaudevillains defeated The Usos

RAW April 18 (7)

Another team advanced in the Tag Team Tournament, and this time said pairing was that of a dastardly nature featuring the campy Vaudevillains as they aim for the belts around the waists of The New Day.

Apollo Crews defeated Heath Slater

A quick squash match, as the one-man rock band got easily laid out by Crews, with the crowd loving every second of the brief encounter.

Dean Ambrose defeated Kevin Owens

The main event for Monday Night RAW in the UK pulled out all the stops, but it was Ambrose that would emerge victorious after landing his Dirty Deeds finisher on the big KO. The victory was short-lived however, as Jericho attacked Ambrose to end the tapings for RAW in the London arena.
