Smackdown December 04

WWE Smackdown LIVE took place from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Here’s all the action that went down on the road to 2018’s final event, WWE TLC.

The Women’s Triple Threat TLC Match Contract Signing transformed into girl interrupted

Like who didn’t see a contract signing between three of the most dominant women in the WWE today causing absolute chaos in the ring? And on that segue, Smackdown LIVE general manager Paige decided to kick the show off proper with a tag team bout right then and there.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville def. Charlotte Flair and Asuka

A match that Charlotte Flair and Asuka were so close to winning, were it not for the machinations of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville as they convinced the powerhouse tag team to turn on each other, resulting in Asuka firing off a Sliding Knee attack on Flair that set her up for a pin by Deville.

Jey Uso def. Xavier Woods and Cesaro in a Triple Threat Match

Giving the WWE Universe half a taste of the upcoming tag team triple threat match at WWE TLC, last night saw a singles bout in that category that ended with Jey Uso scoring the match-wining Superkick on Cesaro.

AJ Styles confronted WWE Champion Daniel Bryan on “Miz TV”

There’s a new WWE champion in town, and he had to kill his past to earn the gold. Daniel Bryan ignored The Miz’s goading last night, claimed that the Yes! Movement was dead and managed to pick a fight with former champ AJ Styles. Not too shabby, although Styles came off worse for wear when The Miz managed to sneak in a Skull-Crushing Finale on the phenomenal one.

Randy Orton def. Jeff Hardy

Refreshed and ready to rumble, Jeff Hardy took on the viper in a match that quickly became very one-sided. Just as it looked like Randy Orton would be buried beneath some high risk action from Hardy, Samoa Joe decided to distract the charismatic enigma via the ol’ Titantron trick, giving Orton the gap he needed to lock on and hit an RKO outta nowhere.

AJ Styles def. The Miz

Looking for payback and weary of Daniel Bryan sitting on commentary, AJ Styles weathered a storm of physical abuse from The Miz, applying a painful calf-crusher to make the A-Lister tap out. With the match finished, Bryan decided to pounce and took out his WWE TLC opponent with a brutal series of attacks, while also demanding that the WWE Universe refer to him as the “New” Daniel Bryan.

  1. Heel turn! Am I just being ridiculous, or do others miss the old days of when good was good, and bad was bad. I hate it when good becomes bad, but I love it when bad becomes good. The Attitude Era will always be my most enjoyable period of WWE history. You couldn’t not like the heels.
