WWE Smackdown LIVE took place this week from Toronto, Canada. Here’s all the action that went down last night as the road to Hell In A Cell continued.
The New Day joined the Five-Timers Club with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T
Having secured the Smackdown tag team championship once again, the New Day decided to celebrate their fifth reign as champions with another iconic five-timer: Booker T. Or should I say…King Bookah!
The Bar def. Gallows and Anderson and The Colons
The New Day needed some worthy competition to chellenge them at Hell In A Cell, and what better way to do so than with a series of Triple Threat matches? Seamus and Cesaro came out on top of this first bout, throwing uppercuts and Brogue Kicks aplenty at the Colons and the good brothers to secure the first victory of the night.
Jeff Hardy challenged Randy Orton to a Hell in a Cell Match at WWE Hell in a Cell
If he wanted to raise hell, then Jeff Hardy was more than happy to give Randy Orton a chance to do so, in a proper Hell In A Cell steel cage match. What was the Viper’s answer to the charismatic enigma? Dead silence, as the Apex Predator dropped the mic and vanished backstage with bad intentions.
Billie Kay def. Naomi
Going two for two in their war against Naomi, Billie Kay repeated Peyton Royce’s victory last week with a sneaky roll-up that had a little bit of assistance from her partner at ringside.
Daniel Bryan def. Andrade “Cien” Almas by disqualification
After an earlier confrontation with Andrade Almas, Daniel Bryan hit the ring with pain on his mind and a mission to dish it out on the smooth-talking challenger. Bryan looked set to have the match in the bag, but thanks to the appearance of The Miz and a mid-match beatdown, Bryan was left down and out for the night.
Samoa Joe crossed the line… again
The mind games continued, as Samoa Joe revealed to AJ Styles that not only did he have the phone number of his wife, but also his home address. Looks like the Samoan submission machine is aiming to visit the Styles residence next week…
SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair def. Carmella
In a rematch for the Smackdown LIVE women’s championship, the royalty of that division clashed. While Carmella may be the self-styled princess of Staten Island, she was no match for the Queen of the WWE, as Charlotte Flair eventually prevailed and nailed the match-ending Figure-8 lock. The real story came after the match however, as Becky Lynch rushed the ring and dropped the champ, taking a microphone and dishing out some verbal damage with which to close the night.
