The taping for WWE SmackDown was held at the Huntington Center in Toledo Ohio this week. Here’s all the action that went down.

First up, a few matches were taped for WWE Main Event. Here are the results from those bouts:

  • Cesaro defeated Curtis Axel
  • Apollo Crews cutsa promo in the backstage area about Rusev
  • Baron Corbin defeated Sin Cara
  • Goldust and R-Truth defeated The Ascension
  • Rusev defeated Apollo Crews

And now for the Smackdown results!

Dean Ambrose is in the ring

Kicking off Smackdown is WWE Champ Dean Ambrose, who joins the commentary team to call the first match of the night.

Seth Rollins defeated Jey Uso

While the opening match of Smackdown raged on, Ambrose played ringside distraction constantly. Rollins managed to ignore Ambrose long enough to lock Jey Uso in a Pedigree and scamper back up the entrance ramp before the WWE champ could get his hands on him.

Zack Ryder defeated Sheamus

In a clean win, Zack Ryder dropped a diving elbow on Sheamus to pin him for the three-count. After that Smackdown win, Ryder cut a promo on the ramp, challenging Rusev for his United States Championship. In America.

Backstage with Rusev

The Bulgarian Brute dismisses Ryder as a worthy contender for his US Title, but confirming that he will defend his championship on the next Monday Night RAW.

Becky Lynch got ambushed

By Natalya yet again. The beatdown went from backstage to ringside, as Natalya applied a sharpshooter until the refs managed to call her off.

Backstage with Xavier Woods

The New Day member is doing an interview in the back about how he fears the Wyatt Family, but confirms that he’ll be there for his bros when they visit the Wyatt compound.

Enzo and Big Cass are in the ring

And they’ve had enough of The Club ambushing people, like they did to John Cena on RAW. AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson then appear, claiming Cena was too scared to make it to Smackdown and throw a few threats towards Enzo and Cass. And thus we have another match set up on Smackdown.

AJ Styles defeated Enzo Amore

A solid match between Styles and Enzo Amore, that had one hell of a bump as Enzo caught himself on the ropes during a suicide dive. Styles won, landing a Styles Clash to seal the deal.

Chris Jericho is looking for his scarf

Which has apparently been stolen by Kevin Owens. Well alright then.

The Miz defeated Kalisto

Seeking revenge for the July 4 incident that saw potato salad thrown on Maryse, The Miz took on Kalisto on Smackdown and won with a Skull Crushing Finale.

Sami Zayn defeated Chris Jericho

In the main event for Smackdown, Sami Zayn had to deal with not only Y2J but Kevin Owens as well who was ringside at the commentary table. Zayn managed to win, quickly rolling Jericho up and scoring all three counts. Jericho wasn’t done however as he hit Zayn with a Codebreaker, while Owens locked him into a pop-up powerbomb to end Smackdown for the night.
