The final taped edition of Smackdown before it transitions to a live weekly show was recorded this week at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Here’s all the action that went down.

Neville defeated Bo Dallas

In a dark match before WWE Main event was taped, Neville wrestled for the first time in two months after an ankle injury that he picked up back in March.

And then WWE Main Event was taped! Match results as follows:

WWE Main Event

  • Jack Swagger and the Golden Truth and Apollo Crews defeated The Ascension and The Vaudevillains
  • Becky Lynch defeated Alicia Fox
  • Sheamus defeated Titus O’Neil
  • The Usos and Cesaro defeated Alberto Del Rio and The Dudley Boyz

And now for the Smackdown results:

Opening segment

Kevin Owens, Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Dean Ambrose all popped up on the Titantron to deliver promos for their matches

Sasha Banks defeated Dana Brooke

A quick rematch on Smackdown from the RAW encounter earlier in the week that ended with a Banks Statement win for Sasha. And was followed up with a beatdown by Charlotte afterwards.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev

Thanks to a handy distraction by Zack Ryder, Ziggler rolled Rusev up for a quick pin, with the big brute freaking out afterwards and running wild all over the Smackdown ringside equipment.

AJ Styles and Karl Anderson defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Enzo got caught up in AJ’s Calf-Crusher submission hold, tapping out.

Kalisto defeated Tyler Breeze

A short match, that was more filler than anything else before Smackdown rolled out some bigger matches.

The Miz TV is back on

With special guests Bob Backlund and Darren Young. The Miz showed off a video of Backlund’s carer highlights and got a big pop from the Smackdown crowd. The Miz then showed off a video of Darren Young’s career highlights which was basically a screen with a big “no signal” being broadcast. And of course The Miz decided to do some trash-talking about the number one contender to his Intercontinental title, which brought out Backlund and Young from backstage for a confrontation.

Backstage

While Shane McMahon was chatting to R-Truth, Sasha Banks was having her neck looked at by the Smackdown doctors. Charlotte and Dana Brooke interrupted this physical, to tell Banks that her singles match at Battleground will now be a tag team match against the two of them.

Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens ended in a No Contest

With Seth Rollins on commentary, interference was mere minutes away. Sami Zayn joined the fray, with the singles match being bumped up to a tag team match on Smackdown.

Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens defeated Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn

Rollins scored a pinfall win after hitting Zayn with the Pedigree, leaving Smackdown with a win for the night. With that match over with, Rollins challenged Ambrose to come back to the ring and fight him one on one. Ambrose ran in, and right into an ambush as Rollins and Owens hit the ring together. Ambrose managed to clear the ring of Owens, hit Dirty Deeds on Rollins and finish the final taped edition of Smackdown as the last man standing.
