John Travolta sure makes a fun bad guy and you will get to see him on-screen this time as he takes on the role of a mobster in this directorial debut by Jackie Earle Haley in – Criminal Activities.
The premise is simple and not really previously unheard of. A group of guys make a risky investment and things go south of course and they now find themselves in trouble with the Mob due to a huge debt that they cannot pay. Enter Mob boss Travolta, who makes them an offer they cannot refuse.
The movie was written by Pulitzer prize winner Robert Lowell and boast a solid cast made up of Edi Gathegi, Michael Pitt, Rob Brown, Dan Stevens, Christopher Abbott and the movie’s director, Haley.
This is what Stephens had to say about his character and working with Travolta on the movie:
[My character is] for the most part kind of a nerd who reunites with some high school friends and they sort of fall in with the mobI was really intrigued to work with Jackie Earle Haley. I was a big fan of his as an actor. I’d not worked with an actor-director before. John Travolta was really great. He didn’t come in as ‘big JT,’ he came in as a fellow actor wanting to see what we’re all up to and really got involved.

If the trailer is anything to go by then there is a chance this movie will be pretty good and I for one am glad to see Travolta back to his bad guy best.
Criminal Activities releases on 20 November 2016.
