The last couple of years have been very good to us gamers, with every single year packing more than a handful of major releases. That said, I don’t think that many of you have fully realised just how MASSIVE the 2011 game release schedule is and just how many amazing games will be fighting to lighten your wallet.

I dug up as many of this year’s major releases and put them together in one list and when you see it for yourself, you are going to cry sweet tears of gaming joy. Almost every single game in this list of nearly 50 games are the type of game that makes you just say “want!”.

Hit the jump and check it out for yourself and seriously… just look at that list.

The list contains 46 titles that I have hand picked as major releases for 2011, which means that there are even more but these are the biggest ones. At the same time, I have probably missed a couple, so if you see some games missing from the list, hit us up in the comments below.

That list is absolutely amazing and I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I could only pick 5 games, or even 10… heck, even 20 for the year.

What games are you looking forward to the most in that list?

Rage, Last Gaurdian, Batman:AC, Uncharted 3, Gears 3 and DNF are already more than enough to keep me busy. Oh, and the new MK looks fantastic, so will probably pick that up too.

(btw, the new Zelda game is called Legend Of Zelda: The Skyward Sword, not Zelda Wii)

Isn’t Mass Effect 3 and the New Elder Scrolls also coming out this year.

ME3 is set for holiday 2011 and Elder Scrolls 5 for November 2011. Nick hates the best games.

I take that back. Colour me impressed. I was under the impression that you don’t play games like that because, and I quote, you don’t “like games with old stuff like swords and magic.”

Well to be honest I bought it cause there wasn’t much else available at local launch. But I ended up enjoying it.

    From the list:
    Little Big Planet 2
    Killzone 3
    Need for Speed: Shift 2
    Legend of Zelda: skyward Sword
    Portal 2
ICO//Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection
    L.A. Noire
    Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
    The Last Guardian

    Not on the list:
    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim*
    Silent Hill: Downpour

    A side note:
According to a reliable source, Metal Gear Solid: Rising has been delayed from 2011 to 2012, otherwise I’d include it.

*Assuming it doesn’t get delayed 4 months like Oblivion did…

    I’ve Pre ordered LittleBigPlanet 2, and I know I’ll love it. ^_^

Gears 3 and Arkham City are high on my hit list as well. There are a bunch of others, but those two top my list. ^_^

And sorry, but I still won’t believe Duke Nuke’em Forever is out, even if it’s in my own console and I’m playing it. It will be a trick. It’ll actually be something made specifically so you think you’re finally playing DNF, when it’s actually Ms Pac Man or something. heehee

Not really looking forward to this year’s games. I will probably still be play Fallout 3 by Q2, and end Fallout New Vegas by Q3, then I think I’ll leave Q4 for COD:MW3. So I’ll only lose R500 – R900.

I’m also saving up for a new PC… 10 big ones!
