Watch-Dogs-Ubisoft

It’s going to be a pretty couple of months before the year ends. There’s a ton o’ games on the way, and near the top if my list of must-plays is Watch Dogs. It’s looking like a pretty awesome game so far. And it’s going to be a title with plenty of choice.

Speaking to Polygon, senior director Dominic Guay explained that the majority of missions could be beaten without even having to fire a single shot:

About 95% of missions you can completely stealth through, or flee or chase without having to shoot. So it’s really player choice-driven. There are a very few, very limited amount of missions that will force you to kill people.

That freedom comes in the form of varied stealth techniques, where gathering information is the key to success. Abilities that will also be present in the multiplayer mode of the game that Guay hinted at. The game is out soon, and it looks like it could give GTA V a run for its money.

It’s out November 22 on a bunch of platforms, and Watch Dogs will be making an appearance on Playstation 4 and the Xbox One as well. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go fight this boss character by hacking his emails and signing him up to several 419 scams.

  1. the patience required is just beyond me..

Like in Deus Ex: HR, sneak to get the cool headshoots, that is all. And then not very much!

Hmm day my daughter is born? Probably should not pre-order…… Might be in the dog box!

*Edit* I want this game! MINE

You have no idea how much swearing I did over the weekend trying to stealth my way through Hitman Absolution challenges. Trying to avoid unnecessary casualties is a real pain in the arse.

I want Hitman, I really do. But the patience angle? The frustration? is it worth it? Should I buy on sale, then?

My patience does not run strong!

Also I cannot shoot very well in these games, so that is also a factor in general gamers frustration

Oh I’m enjoying it, the problem is I’m trying to do the level challenges as well, which means I replay certain sections to kill targets in different ways, not get seen, no disguises, etc.

It’s not that difficult if you don’t really bother with all that & just go in & do the job. Some of the accident kills are great fun though.

I NEVER bother with that stuff.

I play the game through, pick up some challenges, meh, ok. I tend not to go for them, story, fun, ESCAPISM

Dragon Age Origins is an exception, but that is a different type of game.

Then you will enjoy it. Story is pretty good & it is definitely fun.

I wonder if those few non-stealthable missions will be like the first boss fight in Deus Ex:HR.
It took me 20 tries, a walkthrough, and another 8 tries to beat him.

Yes, up until that point I was totally specced towards stealth. Funny how my little silenced pistol wasn’t very effective against a goddamn tank.

That was stupid! I still do not get what they were thinking, outsource boss fights!

Crisis. 2nd play-though, I choose some skills to help my beat him, aka typhoon. 1 minute, two tries.

1st play-through, man it was not fun. Games should have fun or nice surprises, not game style changing ones

It was ridiculous how they did that! I thought I would rule the world by hacking and sneaking past all the big boys. Never having to struggle picking up a gun with my tiny arms. Then I got blown apart by a tank with too many grenades! Hated how it forced me to change my style for that.

Can you complete the entire game without killing anyone? Are there alternate option such as stun/sleeping dart, Clean hands and a test of faith are two of my favorite achievements ever
